Screening Prevention of injury is a major concern for the athlete and sports person. With this in mind, Batchwood HPC and University of Hertfordshire have teamed up to offer a tailored neuromusculoskeletal screening assessment. The testing procedures are based on the screening procedures devised by Andrew Ireland Lead LTA Physiotherapist. This includes:
A documentation and analysis of injury history A posture assessment, An orthopaedic test Functional muscle testing of key joints, muscles and tissues. An in-depth assessment of the flexibility, strength and symmetry of the body. This information is then used to identify risk factors which may lead to injury, and allows the Strength Conditioning coach to address these issues before time is lost to injury. The service is led by Julie Brumby who is a leading Physiotherapist working with the English Institute Of Sport and joint Partner of BODYBALANCE sports injury clinic. The screening of athletes will take place in the Physiotherapy rooms based at the Sports Village at the University of Hertfordshire, on De Haviland Campus.
Directions to the University can be found to the Sports Village web page, which is www.hertssportsvillage.co.uk (look under contact us, and you will find a map.)
