Liz Jones Profile Liz comes from a tennis playing background, having achieved a top 100 WTA senior ranking and being ranked 10 in the world as a junior. She competed at both junior and senior level at the French Open, Wimbledon and US Open. She understands the effort and requirements to compete at a high level in world tennis as a performer. Liz also was part of the American Collegiate system and played at the University of Miami (ranked No 2 in NCAA at the time). In 2001 she was voted LTA coach of the year for her training and development of young junior players onto National champion standard. Liz has travelled extensively to international junior and senior tournaments taking players to Europe, North and South America, and Asia. Her work involves developing young talented players from mini tennis into promising performance players. At the centre along with the rest of the coaching staff she has been fortunate enough to train national age group winners and players who have achieved top 100 junior ITF rankings. Liz has also taken those players onto the WTA and ATP tour. Liz is also an LTA tutor and mentor, she has tutored on DCA and CCA courses. Prior to moving into tennis full time Liz gained a teaching degree in Physical Education and taught at Beaumont School in St. Albans, followed by completing a masters degree in Sports Science at Brunel University.
