HPC Head Performance Coach

Jon Meredith has been involved in tennis for over 20 years. Jon has a strong playing and academic background. Although he started late (10 yrs) he still played at Top Men’s County/ senior National level and was Herts 1st pair Men for 7 consecutive years and played in 13 senior county weeks. He was a National Junior and had wins over GB top 20 men as well as being U18 Herts Triple county champion.

As a coach Jon has a real affinity with young people and has a proven track record of producing national and international juniors from their first lesson onwards. He is able to develop strong relationships with his players and parents alike valuing honesty and hard work and committment. Jon loves specialising in giving budding young talent the best start in the game at a mini tennis level and is able to see them through to National level and beyond. As the Head Performance coach, he is responsible for the HPC Funding policy, Strength and Conditioning partnership with Herts University, the Pathway to Tarbes scheme and mini programme, school links, and the squad structure.

He prides himself on his intensity and ability to get the most out of all of the players he works with by mixing hard work and humour. Outside of tennis, he is married to Natalie with a baby son called Jack.
