Level 2 Community Coach - Level 2 Courses at Batchwood in 2008 - 2009
If you are over 17 years old, enthusiastic about tennis, and want to organise competition and or coach groups of beginner players on your own in a club, school or centre the Level 2 Community Coach qualification is the course for you.
The LTA are dedicated to providing the best progressive development programmes for coaches at every level. At Level 2 you get the highest quality tuition in how to coach and organise competition for groups of beginners on your own.
The title of the course is the Level 2 Community Coach course and has UKCC (United Kingdom Coaching Certificate) endorsement. This course is a qualification and successful candidates will receive a Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Tennis awarded by 1st4sport.
The Level 2 Community Coach course focuses on the tools you need to help beginners compete and play tennis and Ariel Mini Tennis. It will help you to further develop your communication and organisational skills. It also covers how to help with basic tactical and technical advice to improve player performance. The course also covers issues of health and safety, child protection and equity.
The structure of the course is 41 hours of tuition with LTA qualified tutors. This will take place over three modules. Module one is three days (includes primary schools course) and module two is two consecutive days with module three being one day.
Between modules one and two there is a three to six weeks break where you will undertake at least four hours of mentored coach experience. There is the same break and mentored experience between modules two and three.
