How Batchwood Provides Added Value For You!

The Academy Card membership is unique to Batchwood HPC. It enables selected HPC and Futures players to access indoor courts and training facilities across the St Albans district at a subsidised rate. The details of the scheme and costs are as follows: 

ST ALBANS DISTRICT LEISURE CONNECTION ACADEMY CARD SCHEME

For a select few players, Leisure Connection is proud to sponsor the most talented players for Academy Cards which provide a series of privileges and benefits to result in substantial financial savings and use of St. Albans sports facilities. Such benefits include: 

1. Huge savings on court fees. Free Courts
2. Free Use of all Harpers gyms (Batchwood, Westminster Lodge, Bricket Wood, Harpenden, and London Colney)
3. Free use of all St. Albans District swimming pools (Westminster Lodge, Bricket Wood, Harpenden)
4. Reductions at Hit and Run shop at Gosling
5. Reductions on Team Trips

The Academy Card is greatly subsidized by Leisure Connection and St. Albans District Council, to help reduce training costs incurred along their training pathway. We are grateful for their continued support in this scheme.  

CARD COSTS (per annum from September 1^st 2007 – August 31^st 2008)

Born 1995 and older           £325 per yr (£27 per month)

Born 1996-1998                  £225 per yr (£18.75 per month)

Born 1999 and 2000            £125 per yr (£10.41 per month) 

NORMAL COURT COSTS WITHOUT CARD 

Indoor Courts       Peak    £17.10      Off Peak   £15.35

Below is a working example: If a player born in 1997 has 2 individual lessons per week for 45 weeks per year and books 2 practice courts per week: 

WITHOUT ACADEMY CARD  

= 4x £17.10= £68.40 (per week) x 45 weeks= £3078 per year 

WITH ACADEMY CARD

= £225 per year or £5 per week 

Please note, the above example does not include the 52 week benefits of using the gyms and swimming pools. Also Academy Card holders are able to benefit from cheaper weekly rates on their high performance package. (See previous page attached) 

PAYMENT

This must be received at the start of the membership card year (September 1^st). New members that join during the year can receive a pro rata card for missed months of that year. In the case of lost cards, reception will replace the card at a cost of £5.00.    

FANTASTIC BENEFIT!

For St Albans District Residents. If you are a County tennis player that has represented the county team on a regular basis, you can apply for a free academy card sponsored by Leisure Connection and St Albans District Council, subject to application and selection.
